League 2 Online caught up with Rotherham United’s Reuben Reid, ahead of their clash against Aldershot this weekend…
Q: How are you enjoying the season so far at Rotherham?
A: Yes I am, the season started off really well for us, especially with the cup games.
Q: How far do you think the current Rotherham side can go?
A: The current side/squad has a lot of potential. We have some young lads who are all really gifted, so we belive we can win games.
Q: Obviously it was hard with the -17 point deduction, how did the side mentally overcome that?
A: The points deduction was a massive blow even before the season started but we got back on zero pretty quick, so now the aim is to push on
Q: But your scoring a few goals, you must be happy with your form?
A: I’ve got seven for the season, but honestly feel I could and should have had a few more. But scoring whilst playing out in a wide position and not in my preferred central role is encouraging.
Q: The defeat to Shrewsbury was dissapointing, what did you make of the game, and did you deserve the two sendings off?
A: We went to Shrewsbury with a plan to stay compact and be solid, and for 45 mins it went really well. Obviously then with the first sending off it became a lot more difficult but you could say both the red cards were deserved.
Q: Looking ahead to Aldershot, a tough game against the side who finally beat Wycombe. Are you confident you can beat them?
A: If we play how we know we can play then we are more than capable of turning Aldershot over. But they will have confidence after their win against Wycombe.
Q: How would you rate League 2 as a whole?A: League 2 has got a lot better. It is fast and furious, and very competitive at the moment.
Q: Who do you think will win the league, and get relegated?
A: I wouldn’t like to predict the outcomes for the season. Like is said, it’s a very competitive and there is still a long way to go.
Q: You’ve played in League 2 for Rochdale, Torquay, Wycombe and now Rotherham. Where have you most enjoyed playing?
A: I had a great time with Torquay and they had some great fans which I really appreciated. But now at Rotherham I’m really enjoying my football here and long may it continue!
Cheers Reuben, and good luck for the rest of the season from League 2 Online.
Reids been a really good signing for us especially as he was free. We play him out wide but I think he could be even more dangerous up front. Hopefully after a bit of bad luck well push on now!
Leon.
We had Reid for a while at Wycombe and he didn’t do too much. He’s not too much of a worry down the other end of the table either!!
