JPT Semi’s

JPTLuton Town beat League 1 Colchester United at Kenilworth Road to book a place in the southern area final. Claude Gnakpa grabbed the goal, which was fortunately deflected off him past the Colchester keeper.

And they will face Brighton, who ground out a penalties victory against Shrewsbury Town. The Seagulls, who have been on a poor run of form in League 1, went to the Prostar stadium with a game plan to keep the Shrews under wraps. It certainly worked, as the game turned into a dour affair, with few chances of note. Brighton keeper John Sullivan was the hero, as he saved Grant Holt’s penalty to put his side through.

In the northern area, Rotherham beat Darlington on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Steve Foster put the Quakers ahead, but they were pegged back by Danny Harrison. Rotherham keeper Steven Cann saved two penalties to send the Millers through.

They will play League 1 high-flyers Scunthorpe United in the final.
